FIFA Demands Iran Answers

Or so the story goes. I remain skeptical that international football’s ruling apparatchiks will do anything to Iran’s ruling apparatchiks. Apparatchiks tend to hang together; it’s why they’re apparatchiks. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Iran crisis’ all-important Soccer Dimension, Huffington Post super-blogger Nico Pitney calls attention to a petition calling for American players to don green wristbands during their forthcoming match against Brazil. This raises the possibility that the Ayatollah will condemn the meddling interference of Oguchi Oneywu and that Islamic Republic functionaries will attribute the killings of unarmed protesters to nefarious international operative Ricardo Clark.
